Ape Action Africa offers a limited number of self-funded volunteer placements for 2 to 3 months to people aged over 21 with a passion for primate conservation and Africa.
Centre pour Conservation des Chimpanzees (Guinea)
All eco-volunteer applications are considered however, experiences in Africa as well as experience with animals are preferred. In addition, it is preferable to be over the age of 22-23 years and be able to speak French fluently. Volunteers should be in good health due to the remote location and lack of doctor on site. Volunteer veterinarians are required to have at least 1 year of veterinary clinical experience and wild animal experience is preferred.
CERCOPAN accepts long-term supported volunteers for positions advertised in our vacancies section, highly skilled short-term volunteers who are self-supporting (3 months or less) and are able to provide much needed expertise and working holidays/internships for those wishing to stay 2 weeks – 3 months to gain experience and training or just looking for a holiday with a difference.

Though research experience is interesting for us, we are also looking also for people from a diverse background including but certainly not limited to teachers, photography, GIS, botany, editors/writers, artistic ability, sales ability, carpentry etc.
Drill Ranch (Nigeria)
Pandrillus accepts committed and skilled long-term volunteers at both Drill Ranch and Limbe Wildlife Center. LWC also has short-term placements for paying volunteers. We are interested in a diverse set of skills not limited to animal experience or degrees. The most important qualities are a serious interest and the willingness to work as part of a team.
Volunteers over 20 years of age are accepted for 3 or more months commitment.
Limbe Wildife Centre (Cameroon)
Our program is open to anyone who has an interest in wildlife conservation. Volunteers typically work for 5-6 days a week for a period of 1-3 months, and are provided with housing a short 10-minute walk from the project. The cost of the program is a total of €750 per month, with fees going directly to the running costs of the project and living expenses, including basic accommodation and lunch on work days.
